ShelfTalker launches new technology hub at Marshall's Yard

20 July 2026

Digital labelling software specialist ShelfTalker has opened a new technology hub at The Pattern Store, Marshall's Yard, marking the next stage of growth for the innovative Lincolnshire technology start-up.

ShelfTalker has developed cutting-edge software for controlling advanced electronic shelf labelling (ESL) solutions that help retailers significantly reduce labour costs, improve efficiency, as well as visually customise the information displayed on each electronic shelf label and digital display in real time across single or multiple locations. The company supports businesses across the UK and Europe with clients ranging from convenience retailers and petrol forecourts to vehicle dealerships and various commercial operators.

Its base at The Pattern Store includes a dedicated product demonstration and training space where customers can experience ShelfTalker's technology first hand, including live software demonstrations and the latest developments within its growing product range.

Among those developments is AutoTalker, a specialist provider of digital windscreen pricing hardware and software designed for the automotive sector. The platform enables dealerships to manage on both windscreen and dealership displays, update pricing remotely, monitor prices across multiple dealerships, and engage customers through QR code technology and digital content.

Andrew Wood, CEO of both KAL Group and ShelfTalker, said: “We’re delighted to be rolling out this exciting new concept from our head office at Marshall’s Yard. KAL has been part of the centre for nearly two decades, and it’s fantastic to be introducing our newest company here too. ShelfTalker is at the forefront of digital retail technology, and The Pattern Store provides the perfect base for us to demonstrate what the future of digital labelling looks like.”

Andrew has operated his head offices from Marshall's Yard since the early days of The Pattern Store office development, maintaining strong links with Gainsborough and the local business community, including his sponsorship of the KAL Group Stadium, home of Gainsborough Trinity FC, and various events throughout the town.

Melissa Clement, Centre Manager at Marshall's Yard, said: “We’re pleased to welcome another great local company to The Pattern Store. It’s especially rewarding to see an established Marshall’s Yard business continue to grow and expand here. ShelfTalker’s innovative approach and investment in high-tech further strengthens the diverse mix of businesses we have on site.”

The Pattern Store is home to a wide range of independent and professional businesses and continues to evolve as a thriving commercial destination alongside Marshall's Yard's retail and leisure offer.
