Paws at the ready: Marshall’s Yard welcomes back its much loved Barket this May

6 May 2026

Marshall’s Yard is set to welcome the return of its much‑loved Barket Dog Market this May, in partnership with Page’s Pet Rescue, for a fun‑filled day dedicated to dogs and their owners.

Taking place on Saturday 16 May, from 10am to 3pm, the action‑packed event invites visitors to enjoy a wide range of dog‑themed entertainment designed for both two‑ and four‑legged guests.

With over 20 themed stalls, live entertainment, photo opportunities, pup cups and more, the Barket promises a truly tail‑wagging day out.

Dog‑friendly traders on the day will include Holmes Hounds, Inky Punk and Naturally Delilah’s, offering everything from treats to stylish accessories.

Many of the centre’s stores are dog‑friendly all year round, including Browns, Waterstones, The Works, The Range and more.

Several cafés and stores will also be joining in the fun: Costa and Cupcakes will be offering pup cups, Caldero will have in‑store dog treats and a dedicated dog corner complete with its own dog menu, and Cream Café will be serving dog ice‑cream. Timpson’s will also be offering a £5 discount on pet tags and discounted paw print engraving in store during the event.

The much‑loved Crufts‑style dog show also makes a welcome return. Taking place outside The Works, proud owners can enter their pooch for the chance to win first, second or third place across a range of fun categories, including Cutest Pup, Lovely Lady and Best Trick. The ultimate title of Dog of the Yard will be awarded to the overall standout winner of the day.

Competition sign‑ups will be available on the day only, with registration opening at 10.30am and judging getting underway at 11.30am.

The Barket is organised in partnership with Page’s Pet Rescue, a local animal rescue serving the Gainsborough area, led by Michelle Page and supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. The charity focuses on giving animals a second chance by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming pets whose owners are no longer able to care for them.

Page’s Pet Rescue will also host a donation station at the event, and visitors are encouraged to bring along pet supplies such as food, bowls and bedding. Every donation will help support animals in need.

Melissa Clement, Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors and their four‑legged friends back to Marshall’s Yard for the Barket. It’s a great opportunity for dog owners to enjoy the centre together while supporting the brilliant work of a great local organisation, and we hope it will be a fun and relaxed day for everyone involved.”
