MARSHALL’S YARD MAGICAL CHRISTMAS SWITCH-ON CELEBRATION – NOW RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY, 12PM–6PM

UPDATE! Marshall’s Yard is gearing up for a sparkling day of festive cheer on Sunday as the centre announces that the 2025 Christmas Lights Switch-On event has been rescheduled.
Originally planned for Friday November 14th, the celebration will now take place on Sunday November 16th, 12pm–6pm because of today’s weather warning.
Despite the change of date, the team is working hard to deliver one of the town’s biggest festive events, packed with entertainment, live music, delicious food and plenty of Christmas magic.
The celebrations will take place in the Marshall’s Yard central car park, which will be transformed into a festive hub featuring live performances, children’s amusements, gift and food stalls, and a Santa’s Grotto, raising funds for children and young people through The Dransfield Foundation.
The highlight of the celebration – the big light switch-on moment – will now take place at 5pm on Sunday November 16th, officially marking the start of Christmas at Marshall’s Yard.
Families can enjoy a wide range of entertainment throughout the afternoon including children’s fairground rides, Christmas crafting, and free face painting. A fantastic programme of live entertainment will run all afternoon, featuring the Rock Choir, and a Take That tribute act.
Visitors can also browse a wonderful selection of local festive food and drink traders as well as crafts and gifting.
This year’s switch-on event is proudly supported by Gleeson Homes, John Roe Motors, Sills & Betteridge Solicitors, S.W. Cowley & Co Joiners, PING, and Wright Vigar Accountants, whose contributions have helped bring this magical community celebration to life.
