Excitements bubbling at Marshall’s Yard

1 May 2023

A taste of Taiwan is coming to the Cup-Cake Cafe this weekend at Marshall’s Yard.

The popular kiosk which opened next door to M&S Foodhall in 2011 is adding to their food and drink offer by serving bubble teas, or boba teas, in a range of over 12 flavours.

Offering foodies and shoppers something a little bit different, the refreshing tea-based drinks provide a combination of a drink and dessert. Customers will be able to choose from flavoured fruit or milk-based options with chewy tapioca balls or fruity popping boba.

Business owners, husband and wife team Azeem and Leeza Mohsan from Gainsborough, felt it was precisely the gap in the market and what the Yard needed.

Azeem said: “We have a loyal customer base who have supported our start up business throughout the years and joined us on a journey as we’ve embraced new foodie trends expanding on our original cupcake offer.

“We know the bubble teas craze is here to stay and we are really looking forward to getting creative and offering our visitors something that yet again makes us stand out from the other food and drink establishments in the town.

“Our drinks will be made with loose leaf Jasmine green tea and Assam tea which is freshly brewed in store daily. The tapioca pearls will also be cooked from scratch in store to ensure our customers have the best experience.”

The Cup Cake Café will offer the bubble teas to go as well as to enjoy inside the cafe, alongside their popular Goo-Kies, range of cupcakes, fudge slabs and brownies.

The café also offers a range of hot drinks and handmade milkshakes, opening seven days a week and are also available on Uber Eats.

Centre Manager for Marshall’s Yard, Jodie Pacey, said: "It's great to see the café expand its offer and bring something completely unique and exciting to the centre. We're confident that the bubble teas will be extremely popular here at the Yard and wish Azeem and Leeza every success with the launch.”
