A pawsome turnout as Marshall’s Yard hosts a fantastic weekend Barket

Marshall’s Yard is celebrating another hugely successful Barket Dog Market following Saturday’s much‑anticipated return of the popular event, delivered in partnership with Page’s Pet Rescue.
Hundreds of visitors - and an impressive parade of four‑legged friends - filled the centre between 10am and 3pm, enjoying a lively mix of dog‑themed stalls, entertainment and treats.
With more than 20 traders, from Holmes Hounds to Naturally Delilah’s, the atmosphere was buzzing from start to finish.
Cafés and stores across the centre joined in the fun, offering everything from pup cups to dog ice‑cream, while Caldero’s dedicated dog corner proved a particular hit. Timpson’s special event‑day discounts on pet tags and paw‑print engraving were also warmly received.
One of the day’s biggest highlights was the return of the Crufts‑style dog show outside The Works. Proud owners entered their pups into categories including Cutest Pup, Lovely Lady and Best Trick, with the standard of entries impressing judges and spectators alike.
This year’s Dog of the Yard title was awarded to Best in Show winner Pablo, proudly joined by Sasha and Sammi Thornhill, who delighted the crowd with his standout performance. Pablo also won the Handsome Chap prize.
Page’s Pet Rescue also welcomed generous donations throughout the day, with visitors bringing donations of essentials to support the charity’s work rescuing and rehoming animals across the Gainsborough area.
Vikki Levick, Assistant Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the turnout and the fantastic effort from all our four‑legged entrants. The atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish, and it’s wonderful to see the community come together to support Page’s Pet Rescue. The Barket is always a highlight for us, and this weekend was no exception.”
