How to spend a perfect day out at Marshall's Yard

Marshall's Yard is a very unique shopping destination that is steeped in industrial heritage. The site was formerly occupied by the Marshall family's Britannia Iron Works which was founded in 1848 and they built steam engines, threshing machines and agricultural machines which were exported all over the world. Many of the old structures have been retained to this day and are enjoying a second life as a point of interest to many shoppers, such as an old steam crane which provides a dramatic entrance to the centre. And with over 30 fantastic stores, an Italian restaurant, coffee shops and landscaped plaza, there's something at Marshall's Yard for everyone to enjoy. With this in mind, here we have produced a handy guide for how you could spend the perfect day out at Marshall’s Yard!

Indulge in a bit of retail therapy

We all need a bit of retail therapy from time to time. Thankfully, there is a huge range of fashion retailers at the centre to cater for all preferences. Check out the latest fashion trends at Browns Department Store, which is home to a range of international and independent brands including Hugo Boss, Barbour, and Gant for men, whilst ladies wear labels include Seasalt, Soya Concept and Robell. Browns also stocks designer handbags, a fabulous shoe range, plus fragrances and aftershave.

Bargain hunting? Try The Range which offers a wide selection of great value products from luxurious home furnishing items to DIY lines, while the newly opened B&M has a huge range of toys and games, electricals, stationery, giftware, health and beauty products.

If you would like to bring a bit of Scandinavian flair into your home, try JYSK. The international home retailer specialises in great value home wear, office wear and accessories, and their wide selection of handpicked items means you can find exactly what you are looking for.

Grab a drink and a bite to eat

Marshall's Yard has an abundance of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes, occasions and appetites. Tired from shopping and need to rest your legs with a hot drink? Try the coffees at Costa. Whether you favour Espresso, Americano, Latte or a good old cup of English tea, their talented baristas can rustle up your favourite warming tipple.

Fancy a spot of lunch? Why not sit back and enjoy the comforting surroundings of Caldero Lounge. The stylish venue is a home from home, offering delicious food and drinks, all day. The restaurant has a range of special offers including the popular Tapas Tuesdays (enjoy three tapas and a glass of wine for just £13.25 from 5pm every Tuesday).

Prezzo is another option that offers casual dining and matches authentic Italian cuisine with impeccable service. From freshly prepared pizza and pasta dishes, to traditional bruschetta and classic desserts, accompanied by a selection of wines, beers and spirits to enjoy, there is every reason to visit Prezzo Gainsborough.
