Who will be crowned Gainsborough’s Top Dog?

The ultimutt dog event will be joining the monthly Farmers' and Craft Market in Gainsborough’s town centre Market Place on Saturday March 12.

From 10am until 2pm, The Barket, which will still welcome all of Gainsborough’s popular local traders, will invite shoppers to enter their pooches into five different competition categories and find out who will be crowned Gainsborough’s Best in Show.

Categories include: Golden Oldie, Best Puppy, The Skill Triathlon, Best Rescue and Best in Show.

Charlotte Toplass, Events Coordinator at Marshall’s Yard, said “We wanted to add something special to our monthly Farmers' and Craft Market, and what better way to do it than by honouring our furry friends who have been vital in keeping us company over the last few years.

“On the Saturday morning, our competitions will begin, and we can’t wait to see everyone get involved. From best puppy to golden oldie, and not forgetting our competitive skill triathlon category, we are excited to welcome shoppers and all of their pooches.”

Fresh produce and gifts from all of the market’s regular traders will be on offer including stalls from Sarah’s Sweet Treats, Rebecular Aromary and Red Hill Farm.

Charlotte added: “Make sure to head down on March 12 from 10am and register your dog with our team on the market who will keep you updated with when all of the categories are taking place.

“It’ll be a day for the full family to enjoy, and even if you don’t have your own furry friend, it’s well worth a visit to shop with our local traders and view all of the competitions in action.”
