Treat for foodies as Lunch Fest returns to Marshall’s Yard
12 August 2024
Foodies are in for a real treat as Lunch Fest makes a welcome return to Marshall’s Yard this weekend.
Last year’s inaugural event proved to be hugely popular and
attracted a crowd of thousands of people and is back by popular demand.
The free-to-attend event, held on Saturday, August 17, from 11am to
5pm and Sunday, August 18, between 11am and 4pm, will boast a huge range of
more than 20 street food and drink vendors from across the region offering a
range of cuisines that are sure to tickle your tastebuds.
Visitors will be able to indulge in Veresk Italian sweet treats
and olives, Turkish wraps from Istanbul’s Kitchen, locally-sourced Lincolnshire
sausages sizzling away in a giant frying pan, footlong fries from Joella’s and candy
floss shapes by Floss Boss.
There will also be a licensed bar from Beard and Barrel serving
drinks across the weekend to keep you refreshed in the (hopefully) sunny
weather.
Melissa Clement, Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard, said: “This is
a key date in our summer events diary and we can’t wait to bring the festival
vibes to Gainsborough.
“We are excited to showcase our brilliant range of food and drink
traders, on-site hospitality venues and shops, plus a whole host of live
entertainment.
“Come along and join in the fun!”
Alongside an amazing food and drink line-up, visitors can also
expect a full programme of live entertainment and fun activities across the
weekend.
There will be a meet and greet with friendly alpacas on both days
that should provide a great selfie opportunity or family picture.
On the Saturday. there will also be chef stilt walkers parading
around the centre to bring a bit of theatre to the event.
Youngsters can also let their imagination run wild at the
Vegetable Critters workshop, in which families will get the chance to work
together to craft little critters such
as mini-dinosaurs or farm animals out of veg including carrots, potatoes and
broccoli.
Visitors on the first day of the festival can also enjoy live
performances from Lee Douglas and Western Duo.
For the Sunday, visitors will get the chance to help create a huge
artwork masterpiece as part of a messy hands workshop led by The Joker
Entertainment. There will also be live performances from Ellie James and saxophone
player Rose Wilson.
Visitors can also get into the spirit of the festival by having
their face painted for free on both days, which is being kindly sponsored by
McDonald’s (Bomead).
The event has been jointly sponsored by Cowley & Co builders and Wright Vigar Chartered Accountants – both of which provide exceptional service in their community.
Jason Sault, Managing Director of Cowley & Co builders, said: “It is an honour to be sponsoring the event and we hope everyone has a great time.”
David Goodall, Managing Director of Wright Vigar Chartered
Accountants, said: “It is great to sponsor the food and drinks festival. As a
local firm of accountants, we always like to support the communities we operate
in.”
If you are coming along to the festival then this also serves as a
perfect opportunity to check out our great range of shops and hospitality
venues.
For those who like Italian cuisine, Prezzo has a lovely outdoor
seating area for a bit of al fresco dining if you want to sit and relax after
checking out the festival stalls.
In addition, our brand new B&M store has recently opened,
selling a fantastic range of home and garden goods, and other essentials.
