Marshall’s Yard supporting local charities in the Community

24 August 2018

The team at Marshall’s Yard are delighted to have supported two local charities over the last 12 month. The Gainsborough Salvation Army and The Scotter Ward at John Coupland Hospital both offer outstanding services for the community.

Marshall’s Yard has hosted various charity events to raise money for their chosen charities including a Superhero fancy dress day that a number of the stores took part in, collection tins and donations into the wishing well based at the fountain.

Both the Scotter Ward and the Salvation Army received £769.90 each, the money will go toward assisting the charities with their work in the community and at the hospital.

The donation for the Gainsborough Salvation Army based on Beaumont Street was presented to Captain Deborah Oughton and Alan Hair.

Mr Hair said: “The money will be used for the Salvation Army Big Collection Appeal, which provides funds to support the work of The Salvation Army with 100% of the money raised being used to care for people who are vulnerable or in need’.

The donations for the Scotter Ward will support ongoing fundraising. Marie Walker, Ward administrator said: “The donation will be used towards our palliative care project that we have been raising money towards for over two and a half year. Thank you to Marshall’s Yard for your support.”

The donation was presented to Sister Lynn Short, and Ward Administrators, Marie Walker and Carolyn Sleight. Scotter Ward based at the John Coupland Hospital is a nurse led ward that offers recuperation, intensive rehabilitation services and end of life care.

Marshall’s Yard are currently in the process of selecting a charity to support for the next 12 months, the centre will hold fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for nominated charity.
