Local Talent Joins The Elite

Senior stylist at Sophie Amelia Hair, Sophie Shipperbottom, has been selected to join the elite ID Artist programme, with L’Oreal Professionnel. The ID Artist is the X Factor of the hair industry and stylists from across the country gather to wow the judges and fight for a place on this prestigious education programme.

On Monday 16th July Sophie and Junior stylist, Beatrice Munday attended the auditions in Leeds and showcased their models to 6 industry giants in an X Factor style elimination. Sophie made it through with 6 yeses and Beatrice, who only joined the salon in May after relocating from Dubai got a very respectable 3.

After several nervous days Sophie received the news that she has been selected for the two year programme. Sophie said "I’m overwhelmed, privileged and shocked that I have been selected. Sophie Amelia Hair have achieved so much this year and I’m so proud of my team and all the hard work we do."

Sophie Amelia Hair moved to the Award Winning shopping centre, Marshalls Yard in Gainsborough, in May 2018 and have since gone from strength to strength with 2 new international stylists and 2 apprentices joining the team.

The ID Artist offers a world class education programme that was launched by L’Oreal in 2003, previous artists such as Sophie Hilton and Patrick Wilson had excelled from the programme. L’Oreal Professionel describe the ID Artist programme ‘to find, nurture and develop talented individuals who could be future stars of the hairdressing industry’

The programme will be a platform Sophie Amelia Hair to fast track to unlimited resources, events and products plus training from leading names in the hairdressing industry. Following the great success at the DN21 Awards in June this year, the ID Artist will further cement the great achievements this young team have already accomplished.
