Glitzy awards night celebrates the best of Gainsborough business

8 June 2018

The winners in the DN21 Awards have been announced in a glittering ceremony held at Gainsborough Golf Club last night. (Thursday 7th June).

Eleven awards were given to a host of successful businesses across the town who were judged on everything from customer service to community engagement and their social media presence.

It’s the fourth year that the popular awards ceremony has taken place, the event is organised by the Marshall’s Yard team in partnership with Gainsborough Trinity Football Club to acknowledge some of the great businesses in the DN21 postcode area.

The evening has become so successful it moved this year to the larger venue of Gainsborough Golf Club from the Blues Club.

BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s breakfast show presenter Scott Dalton hosted the evening and award judges included Ian Green, Relationship Manager for HSBC, Customer Service Expert George Elliott and Retail and Social Media Guru Graham Soult.

Business Person of The Year was Andy Wood from KAL Group, Best New Business was Gainsborough Scaffolding Services and the coveted Retailer of the Year, which is decided by a public vote, was won by the Marshall’s Yard newcomer Coe and Co, who also won Independent Retailer of the Year.

Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard Alison Shipperbottom said: “We had a fantastic response to the awards again this year and we are delighted that so many great local companies wanted to get involved which is why we decided to move to the larger venue of Gainsborough Golf Club.

“It was a fantastic evening and we would like to thank all our sponsors and judges for their time and support and a huge congratulations to all of the winners.”
