Gainsborough is set to host Farmers’ and Craft Market this October.

2 October 2020

Gainsborough is set to host its monthly Farmers’ and Craft Market on Saturday 10th October from 9am – 3pm.

Since its reopening in June, the outdoor market is bigger than ever thanks to support from a growing number of traders and shoppers.

Following the recent move to Market Place, the market offers a widely accessible area in which to browse the variety of stalls selling seasonal produce, sweet treats, bespoke crafts and gifts.

This month’s market welcomes new trader Rubecula Aromary, selling handmade vegan wax melts. Business owner Sophie Scutt launched her enterprise during lockdown and since then has gone from strength to strength with customers snapping up her soy wax melts in a range of luxurious fragrances inspired by the Lincolnshire countryside. Her range includes melts and starter packs perfect for Christmas gifts.

Making a return visit this month is Westwood Farm Lamb, once again selling their freshly prepared cuts of lamb, plus some special additions to the range including their gluten free Lincolnshire lamb sausages and lamb meatballs, their newest product.

October’s market sees a further host of returning traders including The Old Forge Florist, Pickles Preserves, Westwood Farm Lamb, More Bees Please, Redhill Farm, Kevin Lees selling handmade pies, Eleanor Rogerson Enamel and Copper, Mount Pleasant Windmill, Capps Fish, Sarah’s Sweet Treats, A Stab in the Wool/The Man from Skidby, Wild Rose Skincare, Giddy Kipper Plants, The Cheese Shop and Hepy’s Hog Roast.

The monthly Farmers’ market is held on the second Saturday of every month and is part of a joint initiative coordinated by Marshall’s Yard with West Lindsey District Council.

Charlotte Toplass, Marshall’s Yard Tenant Liaison Executive, said: “We are looking forward to another exciting Gainsborough Farmers’ and Craft Market taking place this weekend.

“There has never been a better time to shop local - with a growing number of traders we encourage visitors to come down and stock up on everything from fresh meat, artisan breads and cheeses, plus natural beauty products and gifts in a safe, accessible environment.”
