Gainsborough gears up for fire and light themed Farmers’ & Craft Market

9 November 2021

Gainsborough Farmers’ & Craft Market returns this weekend with a fire and light theme as part of the town’s Illuminate 2021 celebrations.

Held in Market Place between 9am and 3pm, the market boasts live music and the chance to meet a real life princess, Rapunzel who will be letting down her hair between 10am an 12pm.

This month’s market welcomes new trader 13-year-old Poppy of Poppy’s Posies. Poppy launched her business after creating gorgeous, dried bouquets of handpicked flowers at home during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Another brand-new trader RhiRhi Designs offers tailored stationery and signage, the perfect finishing touch to any special occasion, from weddings and baby showers to Christmas.

Popular return traders include Hayley Stafford at The Yarnsmith, offering wool kits and boxes perfect for avid crocheters, fishmonger Patrick Capps, Hepy’s Hog Roast, Kevin’s Handmade Pies, Redhill Farm Free Range Pork, Special Edition Chocolate, Pickles Preserves, P.B’s Wood N Art, Sarah’s Sweet Treats, Mount Pleasant Windmill and Rubecula Aromary.

The monthly Farmers’ market has a full line up of fresh meat and fish, cakes and sweet treats, freshly baked bread and preserves, plus handmade gifts and crafts. It is

held on the second Saturday of every month coordinated jointly by Marshall’s Yard and West Lindsey District Council.

Charlotte Toplass, Marshall’s Yard Tenant Liaison Executive, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing the delight on children’s faces when they get to meet Rapunzel. And of course, we’re thrilled to welcome new and regular visitors to enjoy what the market has to offer, from hot and cold food, fresh produce and unique Christmas gifts all produced locally.”
