Gainsborough gears up for its March Farmers’ and Craft Market.

28 February 2020

Gainsborough is hopping with excitement ahead of its Farmers’ and Craft Market on Saturday 14th March from 9am – 3pm, featuring a very special guest!

The market, held on Market Street outside the town’s newest restaurant The Forge Restaurant & Bar, is the perfect place to shop for fresh seasonal produce and bespoke gifts to treat Mum to this Mother’s Day.

As well as a packed line up of new and returning traders the market is delighted to welcome special guest Peter Rabbit to mark the launch of the film Peter Rabbit 2: The Runway which launches in cinemas on March 27.

Alongside Peter will be traders Ellis Fruit and Vegetables, Capps Fish, Curly Nook Jewellery, Good with Wood, Plop Creations, Sarah’s Sweet Treats, Special Edition Chocolate, The Fishcake Company, A Stab in the Wool/The Man from Skidby, Eleanor Rogerson Enamel and Copper, Plop Creations, CB Designs, He Crafts She Crafts, Wild Rose Soap Company, Giddy Kipper Plants, The Little Cottage Candle Company, The Cheese Shop and Hepy’s Hog Roast.

Making a welcome return this month is Redhill Farm Produce selling free range pork, Kevin Lees selling handmade pies and pasties, He Crafts, She Crafts offering delicate handmade gifts including laser cut and engraved items, and Plop Creations selling handmade cards – ideal for Mother’s Day or any occasion.

Two exciting additions to the market are new traders Barrie’s Baking, selling delicious homemade fudge, and Mrs Wreath Designs, selling bespoke home décor and gifts.

The monthly Farmer’ market – held on the second Saturday of every month- was relocated to Market Street as part of a joint initiative coordinated by Marshall’s Yard with West Lindsey District Council.

The event has grown in popularity since its launch, attracting visitors from Gainsborough and across Lincolnshire.

Shoppers who miss Peter Rabbit on Market Street can catch him later that day during his visit to Marshall’s Yard, where the first film will be shown on the giant TV screen in the fountain area.

Alison Shipperbottom, Marshall’s Yard Centre Manager, said: “We are looking forward to a very busy Farmers and Craft Market this month. As well as welcoming all our traders we are excited to welcome Peter Rabbit to celebrate the launch of the new film.

“Come along and say hello to Peter and shop for some unique gifts for Mother’s Day as well as treating yourself to our delicious produce on offer!”
