Gainsborough Farmers' Market This Weekend

9 April 2019

Gainsborough’s popular monthly Farmers’ and Craft Market takes place this Saturday (April 13th) in its brand-new location on Market Street – hosting a fantastic line up of local traders.

Shoppers will be treated to a visit from Peter Rabbit as well as free face painting and live music and some great local produce from traders including Redhill Farm, Ellis Fruit and Veg, and Pickles Preserves as well as Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese and Mount Pleasant Bread.

Craft traders joining the line up include Good With Wood, Jane Lee Art, Wild Rose Soap and The Cottage Candle Company.

The Gainsborough Farmers’ Market has been located at Marshall’s Yard since 2008 where the team have built up a strong line up of local producers.

Now the Marshall’s Yard team are working with the West Lindsey District Council on the new location for the market and will continue to manage the monthly event.

A regular programme of entertainment will also feature at the monthly market as well as special seasonal themes.

The relaunched market will be run in partnership with Discover Gainsborough, West Lindsey District Council and the Marshall’s Yard team and will help to create activity and link different parts of the town.  It will also support and strengthen the twice-weekly market in Gainsborough which takes place every Tuesday and Saturday.

Alison Shipperbottom, centre manager at Marshall’s Yard said: “We are really looking forward to this weekend’s Farmer’s and Craft Market in its new location on Market Street, the feedback from our traders has been great and we have a few special features planned for Saturday.”

“We’re delighted to be starting in this new location with such a great line up of local producers and crafts.”

Other traders at Saturday’s market include Han-Made, With Love From Lincs, The Fishcake Co, Plop Creation, Sophistikated Bags and Giddy Kipper Plants.
