Christmas cheer lights the way at Marshall’s Yard!

13 November 2020

The stunning Christmas lights at Gainsborough’s Marshall’s Yard shopping centre have now been switched on ready for the festive period.

The display which features the hugely popular seven-metre high reindeer in the fountain area is now in place and lit up for the whole of November and December.

In previous years thousands of people have turned out to take part in the popular lights switch on event in both the town centre and at Marshall’s Yard. But this year the festive display was switched on behind closed doors in line with the current lockdown restrictions.

Many essential retailers remain open at Marshall’s Yard throughout November. These include Wilkos, Poundland, Superdrug and Holland and Barrett.  Many others including Next, Browns and The Florist are offering a click and collect service to ensure that customers can support their local stores throughout November.

Non-essential retailers are scheduled to re-open their doors after the month-long lockdown finishes on December 2nd.

Tenant Liaison Executive at Marshall’s Yard Charlotte Toplass, said: “This is always our favourite time of year at Marshall’s Yard and although we haven’t been able to host our usual Christmas Lights Switch On event in the town this year we’re sure everyone will love seeing the centre lit up for November and December.

“We would like to thank all our customers for supporting our centre this year and look forward to the non-essential stores being able to re-open early in December.”

The regular weekly Gainsborough Market and monthly Farmer’s Market can also take place through November for those traders selling essential items.
