Call out for entries for prestigious DN21 Awards 2020!

2 March 2020

With just two weeks until the deadline for entries in Gainsborough’s DN21 Awards organisers are urging businesses to put themselves forward for one of the twelve award categories.

The awards ceremony returns this year after a 12-month break and there are lots of businesses new and old in the town who have already been put forward – but organisers are keen to see more.

The awards are free to enter and entrants have until the 16th March to get their applications submitted, forms can be downloaded from the website

An independent panel of judges select the winners and runners up and judging is carried out by either an informal interview or by a mystery shop, depending on the category entered.

There are twelve awards in total which are aimed at focussing on the retail, commercial, trade, hospitality and industry sector businesses within the DN21 postcode area.

The team at Marshall’s Yard has once again joined forces with Trinity Football Club to bring the business community in Gainsborough together to celebrate and reward the excellent retailers and services right across the town.

This year, Invest Gainsborough is the main sponsor of the event.  The group of businesses work together to act as key ambassadors for the town - promoting it as a place to live, work, visit and invest, helping to steer West Lindsey’s ambitious programme of development.

Alongside this headline sponsor, several other local businesses have already got behind the initiative by sponsoring the various awards ranging from Business of the Year to the Customer Service Award as well as awards recognising green credentials, efforts on social media and even individual staff members as “shining stars.”

Sponsors so far include Wright Vigar, Kerry, Ping, Thonock Park, Darron Childs Practice, Martin & Co, Vodafone, ACIS HomePlus, Burton & Dyson Solicitors, Gainsborough Town Council, LR Hutchinson and Horsleys.

Further opportunities are still available for businesses who want to be involved and sponsor an individual award.

Chairman of Trinity Football Club, Richard Kane, said “There has been a great response from local business people for this event so far, however we’re keen to hear from even more and really showcase the best that’s on offer through this event and put Gainsborough on the map.

“The range of categories suit every business as we have awards recognising good business practice in the commercial, retail and even trade sectors giving everyone a chance to enter.”

The glitzy presentation evening will be held once again at Thonock Park on the 30th April and will be a great night of celebrating Gainsborough and its business community.
