Adorable farm animals dressed in Christmas jumpers set to bring festive cheer to Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough

4 December 2023

Adorable farm animals dressed in Christmas jumpers will take centre stage for the latest Christmas-themed event at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough this weekend.

Visitors will get the chance to pet goats, donkeys, mini ponies and more at Santa’s Farm on Saturday, December 9, and Sunday, December 10, from 11am to 3pm.

Everyone is welcome to come along to be in the company of the cute animals from Ian’s Mobile Farm, who will be gathered together in a festive-themed pen.

There will also be the opportunity for families to take pictures, pet and feed some of the animals.

Melissa Cutforth, assistant centre manager at Marshall’s Yard, said: “This is a chance for everyone in the community to come along and really get into the Christmas spirit.

“The animals will look absolutely adorable in their festive jumpers and thank you so much to Ian for bringing them to the centre.

“And a huge thank you to our event sponsors Sills & Betteridge Solicitors.

“This is the latest in our ’12 Days of Christmas’ programme of events leading up to Christmas. So come on down and enjoy the fun!”

A spokesperson for the Festive Farm event sponsors Sills & Betteridge Solicitors said: “As one of the leading firms of solicitors in Gainsborough since opening our doors at Marshall’s Yard in 2009, we are honoured to be sponsoring this event.

“We are sure everyone in the community will have a fantastic time at the event, which we are sure will help everyone to get into the festive spirit.”

Shoppers will also have the opportunity to meet Santa and his Elf in the Grotto on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 3pm.

There will also be free face painting on Saturday, December 9, from 11am to 3pm, sponsored by the main ’12 Days of Christmas’ programme sponsor McDonald’s franchisee Bomead Ltd.

Visitors can also expect to hear the sounds of traditional brass bands across the weekend with live performances from the Blidworth Welfare Brass Band who will be playing between 11am and 1pm both days around the fountain area.

A Disney-themed meet and greet event with Mickey and Minnie Mouse will take place on Saturday, December 16, between 11am and 1pm.

A brass band from the Salvation Army will be playing on Saturday, December 16, from 10am, and the following day, Sunday, December 17, the 119 Squadron Cadet Brass Band will play for the crowds from 1pm. Santa will also be around in his Grotto to hear your Christmas wishes all weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 3pm.
