Musical treat comes Out Of The Blue for festive shoppers at Marshall’s Yard

The internationally acclaimed singing sensation Out Of The Blue will be treating Christmas shoppers to a special festive performance when they call in at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough on Saturday December 13th.

Out Of The Blue is an all-male "a capella" group made up of students from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University - their unique take on Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” famously won them the seal of approval of the mega star herself earlier this year.

The group made it through to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2011 with their eclectic mix of songs, focussing on covers of modern rock and pop hits. They’ve toured the UK, Ireland, the USA and Scandinavia and will be adding Gainsborough to that list this week.

The 13 strong group includes former Gainsborough Queen Elizabeth’s High School pupil Jack Remmington – who’s looking forward to making a return trip to his home town along with his fellow singers for their special one-off performance at Marshall’s Yard.

Jack said: “It’s really nice to come and perform in my home town – we have just completed our tour raising awareness for our new Christmas charity single so it’s great to have the opportunity to do this special performance in Gainsborough”

Out Of The Blue will be performing in the fountain area, around the festive reindeer centre-piece at Marshall’s Yard, at 11am on Saturday. Live music will feature throughout the day and Santa will also be appearing at 12pm!

The day’s entertainment will also include the Salvation Army Brass Band and Britain’s got Talent semi-finalist, Grace Bower.

Assistant Centre Manager, Alison Hall, said: “We are so excited to have Out Of The Blue performing at the centre, I’m sure Jack and the rest of the group will be given a great Gainsborough welcome.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day for all the family, as well as some wonderful musical entertainment we’ll have our real reindeers here, a walk about Snowman: and Santa is also calling in to visit our younger shoppers.”

The last Farmers’ Market of the year will also take place this Saturday with new traders offering special Christmas treats such as hampers, real ale and homemade pies.

Extra parking is available at the overflow car park at the rear of the centre off Station Approach.
