Church congregation comes together for the first time in brand new premises

27 August 2014

Members of a Lincolnshire Church will this weekend hold their first service in their brand new church at Gainsborough’s Marshall’s Yard.

Contractors have spent the last three months transforming a 1,368 sq. ft. office unit at the Pattern Store at Marshall’s Yard into a fantastic and flexible space for Hope Church.

And this weekend the church community will have its first chance to come together in the new church when members hold their very first Marshall’s Yard service which starts at 11am on Sunday (August 31st)

Hope Church has around 40 members who before the move to the rather unconventional setting of Marshall’s Yard were meeting every week in the Park Springs Community Centre.

The members had been searching for some time for a permanent base and are delighted with their new church which also houses a separate community space as well as a kitchen and youth work area.

Local contractors Pickering and Purle completed the £40,000 transformation of the Pattern Store unit.

Matthew Ward from Hope Church said that everyone was looking forward to the service at the weekend.

He added: “We have been looking for a building that fits our needs for a while and we’re really excited about our new premises and holding our first service here on Sunday.

"This is a great location for us, right in the heart of the community and everyone is welcome to come and join us at our service, have a look at the new premises and find out more about Hope Church.”

"Management surveyor for Marshall’s Yard Amy Baldwin, said: “The church looks fantastic and we are delighted to welcome all the members of Hope Church to Marshall’s Yard.”
