Lights Switch On Event Gets Even BIGGER at Marshall’s Yard!
The build up to the festive season gets underway in Gainsborough this week as the team at Marshall’s Yard prepare for the annual Christmas Light’s Switch On this Friday.
The fun starts from 12pm with a packed programme of events through until 8pm. This year’s Lights Switch On will be hosted by the fantastic Lincs FM who will be getting everyone in the festive spirit with live entertainment, dancing and plenty of festive giveaways!
Noon will see the opening of the food and craft stalls along the main walkway selling a range of wonderful gift ideas with plenty of festive food ready to keep you warm throughout the event!
Marshall’s Yard are this year welcoming a new ‘thrilling’ simulator ride for the brave hearted, whilst the young ones can visit Santa and his two reindeers who will be available to meet and greet and for photo opportunities!
At 4.00pm, glowing stilt walkers and horse and carriage rides will be available, along with Zumba Dancing at 5.15pm. Lincs FM will have a fantastic selection of competitions and prizes to give away throughout the event in the build up to the big switch on at 6.00pm!
And the Yard will be unveiling a brand new look as well as fantastic new reindeer centrepiece which stands seven metres high. The lights will be switched on by cast from Aladdin, Santa and the Lincs FM team – along with the winner of the Yard’s Name the Reindeer Competition.
Seven year Eleanor Clarkson who is from Glentworth will be switching on the Christmas lights after being picked out by the judges for the winning name of Orion.
Eleanor will receive VIP treatment at the event along with taking home a fantastic selection of special Christmas gifts and prizes from Marshall’s Yard.
A stage show will follow the light switch on at 6.15pm along with a traditional Christmas performance by the Gainsborough Salvation Army at 7.00pm!
To close the event in style, a fantastic family prize will be given away on the Lincs FM stage at 7.30pm. This will include a selection of prizes by stores at the Yard in addition to a luxury Christmas hamper by Marks & Spencer!
