JJB Staff to “Swim the Channel” without Leaving Gainsborough!

Superfit  staff at Gainsborough’s JJB Health and Fitness Centre are gearing up for a fitness challenge to raise funds for Children  in Need.

The annual BBC fundraising event is being supported by the JJB staff who are planning to work in relay and swim the equivalent of the length of the English Channel -  a total of 1,171 lengths of the fitness centre swimming pool!

The 25 strong team will start the swimming relay at the Marshall’s Yard health and fitness centre at  6.30am in the morning on Friday November 14th.

And everyone across the town  is also being urged to take part in a 2 mile sponsored walk around Gainsborough which starts at 9am from JJB – for a donation of at least £1 for Children in Need.

A cake sale is also being held at JJB from 1.30pm onwards.

Elsewhere on the busy Marshall’s Yard centre –  our security guard Frank Gough raised more than £100 by showing he’s game for a laugh and dressing as a woman for the day on Saturday!

Marshall’s Yard Centre Manager Janet Linfoot said: “Its great that everyone is getting in the spirit and helping to raise money and we hope all these events are well supported.”
