Safer Parking Award for Marshall’s Yard

Safer Parking Award for Marshall’s Yard

Marshall's Yard in Gainsborough has been awarded the prestigious Park Mark Safer Parking Award for the second year running.

The award is given to car parks which have met the requirements of a thorough risk assessment conducted by the police.

To comply with the Park Mark requirements measures, including survelliance and better lighting, have to be put in place to deter criminal and anti social behaviour reducing the fear of crime in the car park or parking facility.

More than 621 car parks have the award in the North East of England, and nationally in excess of 3,700. All of these car parks have significantly low recorded crimes within them, and the majority are crime free.

Centre Manager at Marshall's Yard, Janet Linfoot, said: "We are dedicated to providing a safe environment for all our visitors here at Marshall's Yard and we are very pleased to have received the Park Mark Award again."

Phil Taylor, of Park Mark, said: “The awards are not just given away, the car parks are physically assessed by the police annually to ensure that crime and the fear of crime is kept to a minimum.

“Marshall’s Yard is a very good example of a Safer Car Park. It is inviting to customers, having adopted the Safer Parking Standard, it is clean and tidy and has constant high visibility uniformed patrols.

It is a crime free environment and I would encourage the public to use it.”

Park Mark is managed by the British Parking Association and supported by the Home Office. For more information about Park Mark visit the website at www.securedcarparks.com <http://www.securedcarparks.com/>
