Youngsters from Marshall’s Sports FC will be a little warmer when they’re out training this winter – thanks to a new sponsorship deal from Specsavers at Marshall’s Yard.

Specsavers have sponsored the smart drill cotton tops that the under 12s wear in their training sessions.

The team, which plays in the Caparo League in Scunthorpe, attracts young footballers from across Lincolnshire and is also sponsored by Marshall’s Yard – sporting the centre’s logo on their match strips. Marshall’s Yard is also sponsoring the U14 girls team this season.

Regular training sessions are held by the club at the Roses Sports Club in Gainsborough.

Jacqui Pike and Shirley Rundstrom, of Specsavers at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough said the company was delighted to support the team.

Shirley added: “As a local business here in the community we are really pleased to be able to support the team in this way. We wish them all the very best and will be keeping up with how they are doing in their matches.”

Nigel Stevenson, manager at the Marshall’s Sports FC, said: “We are very grateful for the support Specsavers have given us. The team are really pleased with their new kit and training tops.

“Each team in the club is encouraged to finds their own sponsor and the support from Specsavers is really appreciated as is the on going support we have received from Marshall’s Yard, we are proud to be associated with the development.”
