Blood Donor Day a Great Success at the Yard!
The National Blood Services' mobile donor van paid a visit to Marshall's Yard - and organisers say they were delighted with the response from the public in Gainsborough.
Shoppers and town centre workers were given the chance visit the mobile unit to give blood during the one day visit last week.
The National Blood Service is an integral part of the NHS, and guarantees to deliver blood, blood components, blood products and tissues from 15 centres to anywhere in England and North Wales. Regular mobile donor sessions are also held such as the one at Marshall's Yard.
The Target for donations was 20 which was almost doubled - the total number of units donated through the day was 39!
Assistant Centre Manager at Marshall's Yard, John Davison, said: "We were delighted to have the National Blood Service here at Marshall's Yard and pleased so many people took the opportunity to give blood during the day. We'll be very happy to welcome them back any time"
