Scooter Fan Sets Off From The Yard in Charity Ride!
A SCOOTER fanatic who is taking part in a coast to coast fundraising ride is setting off on his fundraising mission from Marshall's Yard this week.
Mark Elsom, a 47 year old window cleaner from Gainsborough, will be one of more than 300 scooter riders taking part in the mass charity ride.
He'll be setting off on Friday August 15th from Gainsborough on his Lambretta Scooter travelling the 315 mile round trip to Southport, then Bridlinghton and back to Gainsborough.
Mark's chosen charity is Help For Heroes which helps those in the services injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. He manned a cake stall at the Yard at the weekend to further boost his fundraising efforts.
Mark said: "I'm hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity by taking part in the coast to coast."
Anyone who would like to see Mark off on his journey can wave him off at 10:30am on Friday August 15th from Marshall's Yard.
Janet Linfoot, Centre Manager, said: "We wish Mark all the very best for his challenge and hope he will be well supported along the way."
