Marshall’s Yard celebrates St Patrick’s Day

Marshall’s Yard will be getting into the St Patrick’s Day spirit this weekend, with local folk band Pinch of Snuff entertaining visitors with Irish folk songs this Saturday (15th March).

One of the area’s longest established bands, Pinch of Snuff have been together for 27 years playing venues right across the Midlands.  They are a three piece band, playing accordian, guitar and double bass, and Saturday shoppers are guaranteed to be tapping their feet to the group’s lively mix of traditional and Irish jigs.

St Patrick’s Day is on Monday 17 March in honour of the legendary patron saint who was born in the fourth century and is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. It is celebrated throughout the world with revellers embracing all things Irish – green clothing, leprechaun, stout, shamrocks and more!

So if you’re thinking of celebrating St Patrick’s Day, head down to Marshall’s Yard this weekend.  Pinch of Snuff will get you in the mood and stores on the centre will have all the items you need to help your St Patrick’s celebrations go down a storm.  The band will be playing from 3.00 pm until 5.00 pm.

Janet Linfoot, centre manager at Marshall’s Yard said: “We thought it would be a good idea to bring a flavour of St Patrick’s Day to Marshall’s Yard and are looking forward to being entertained by Pinch of Snuff.  I’m sure visitors to the centre this weekend will enjoy their music and find it the ideal kickstart to any St Patrick’s Day celebrations.”
